Cage dive with Great White Sharks, Swim with sea lions and dolphins
Day 1 – Eyre Peninsula
We leave Adelaide at around 5.15am am and head to the Eyre Peninsula. We visit Port Pirie for breakfast. We also pass Port Augusta and Whyalla. We then head out to Mikkira Station, where have time to walk around the property to find Koalas.
You will stay at Port Lincoln in hostel style accommodation. (L,D)
Day 2 - Cage Dive with Great White Sharks
Those that dare have the opportunity to come face to face with the Great White Shark (additional cost paid locally - $495 (subject to change) including video ‘highlights’). After an introduction and safety briefing, we set off for the Neptune Islands. We are often accompanied by pods of dolphins and even the odd whale (in season) on our 2 ½ hour cruise.
Groups of six enter the spacious cage at a time, and have around 45 minutes with these amazing animals. Please note that time in the cage can vary and will depend on shark activity and weather on the day.
Even when you’re not in the water, you don’t miss out. We have cameras mounted on the shark cage, so sit in our comfortable saloon and watch the underwater action live. We provide breakfast, morning tea, lunch, afternoon tea, plus refreshments. MV Calypso Star II is a fully-licensed vessel, so enjoy the bar on the way home.
For those not wishing to be quite so extreme have the option to do some great hikes.
Those not wishing to be quite so extreme, have a choice of great walking hikes around Port Lincoln to explore: Either walk the Investigator trail from North Shields back to Port Lincoln (10km) or the Parnkalla trail from Billy Lights Point back to the famous Makybe Diva statue on the foreshore, then back to the YHA (7km)
Everyone reunites for another night’s stay in Port Lincoln. (B,L,D)
