  • Day 1: Kathmandu - Lukla - Phakding

Early in the morning you meet up with the group and head to the airport for your flight to Lukla. This is an approximately 45 minutes flight with incredible mountain views north to the Himalayan Range. After meeting the crew in Lukla, you head up the Dudh Koshi River Valley on a well-marked trail to Phakding.
    Trekking time: approx. 4 hours
    Heights: Kathmandu 1350m, Lukla 2840m; Phakding 2600m
    Overnight in tea house.

  • Day 2: Phakding - Namche Bazaar

This morning you continue north following the Dudh Koshi river and on to Jorsale where you enter the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park. From here it is a short walk to the confluence of two rivers, the lmja Drangpa (Imja Khola) and the Nangpo Tsangpo (Bhote Kosi) where you cross once more on a suspension bridge. This is followed by a steep climb (for about 2hrs) up to Namche Bazaar, the main town in the Khumbu region. Namche is a prosperous Sherpa town and an important trading centre with a weekly Saturday market.
    Trekking time: approx. 6 hours
    Heights: Namche Bazaar 3440m
    Overnight in tea house.

  • Day 3: Rest day

Today is for letting your bodies rest and acclimatise. If you are feeling good you could go for an acclimatisation walk, or explore the village. Namche Bazaar is tucked away between two ridges amongst the giant peaks of the Khumbu. Options for acclimatisation walks include a visit to Khunde Hospital, or the one hour walk up to the Everest Hotel above Namche for the view of Ama Dablam, Nuptse, Lhotse and Everest, with many more in the mix as well.

  • Day 4: Namche - Tyangboche

From Namche, the trail contours around the side of the valley, high above the river and, as you go, you get great views of the great peaks of the Khumbu including Mt Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse and AmaDablam. After dropping down steeply to the river at PhunkiTenga and having lunch, you have a long steep climb up through beautiful forest to tonight's lodge. Tyangboche is famous for its legendary monastery, the largest in the Khumbu and you will stay near this monastery with Everest, Lhotse and AmaDablam in full view.
    Trekking time: approx. 6 hours
    Heights: Tyangboche 3860m
    Overnight in tea house.

  • Day 5: Tyangboche - Dingboche

After breakfast you head on up the trail to Dingboche. You first descend through stunning forest to Deboche and then cross the river and have a short climb to Pangboche which is a good lunch spot. On this side of the river stunning Ama Dablam is prominent and a stunning distraction from the trail as you continue up to Dingboche for the night.
    Trekking time: approx. 6 hours
    Heights: Dingboche 4300m
    Overnight in tea house.

Nepal has the widest altitude range of any country on the earth. Each altitude has its own weather, from tropical heat to Arctic cold. In the main trekking seasons in the spring (March/April) and autumn (October/November), the weather is generally stable and even the high passes may be free of snow and relatively easy to traverse at times. But beware, you are heading into the World’s highest mountain range and be prepared for changes of temperature and weather. And though this period is generally expected to be dry, as everywhere, rainfall and gloomy weather may occur making the mountains less visible. Not least, sudden snow may be experienced at high altitudes blocking the trail and bringing with it freezing temperatures.

The monsoon season roughly starts mid-May/June and runs to the end of August. During this period rainfall and muddy trails may be expected and the possibility to see mountains is less as compared to the main trekking seasons. Travelers who value greenery and quiet environments will love traveling during monsoon season. We recommend the Upper Mustang area in the monsoon season due to it being relatively shaded from rain during June-August.
