For 20 years we have given our travelers advice on how to explore Bangkoks Chinatown with its jungle of markets, lights, sounds, and bizarre street life. Now we take you on a short mindboggling trip incorporating places we have recommended for years.
We venture by local bus or Tuk Tuk to the deep heart of nighttime Chinatown to explore the secrets of this bustling neighborhood. On this 3-hour trip we experience the wave of life in Yaowarat road with its bling bling and people squatting on red, blue, green plastic chairs on street corners and walkways. We taste dishes that are loved by Thai and Chinese people alike. We try the spicy stuff, indulge in the sweet deserts, we hear stories about the dishes, and talk to food lovers around us. In between we explore side streets and hidden alleys for temples, strange customs, film sets, and arousing moments. Though there are parts of Chinatown we visit that are suddenly quiet and empty for life, the senses are on an exploration and never have a dull moment. Your trip will end in Chinatown after the last desert stop around 21:30hrs.
