Sarnath contains a rich library and at the MulagandhaKutirVihara, there are excellent frescoes by KosetsuNosu.
The Sarnath Museum, not far from the site, contains some of the finest specimens of Buddhist sculpture. The illustrious Mantra, 'BuddhamSharanamGachhami', owes its foundation to Sarnath. Besides Buddhism, it is also linked with Jainism. There is also a vast expanse of prehistoric ruins at Sarnath. Several Buddhist structures were raised at Sarnath between the 3rd century BC and the 11th century AD. The Ashoka pillar of Sarnath is the National emblem of India.

Throughout the year in India.
In Nepal, the best trekking season is in spring and autumn where the weather is generally stable and even the high passes may be free of snow and relatively easy to traverse at times. Contrary, we do not recommend Jun-Aug due to monsoon rain. In general always be prepared for changes of weather!
