Om du vill göra en bokning för fler personer, vänligen kontakta någon av våra resesäljare som kan hjälpa dig med din bokning.

The Nomads 4WD tag-along safari is the best way for like-minded travellers to experience Fraser Island, a World Heritage site. This tour has an ideal balance between a guided and self-drive safari, where you can experience the freedom of driving a 4WD (optional) under the guidance and leadership of one of our experienced and professional local guides.

Max 8 passengers per 4WD vehicle (drivers/non-drivers) travel in a tag-along fashion following a guide in a "lead vehicle" exploring the island’s highlights and not-to-be-missed locations. There is plenty of time to stop and enjoy the natural wonders of this stunning island.

The Nomads Fraser 3D/2N 4WD Self Drive tour departs from and returns to beautiful Noosa Heads and includes 2 nights' camping at Eurang Resort on Fraser Island. The resort is conveniently located in the middle of the eastern side of the island close to the beach and all the must-see attractions.
  • Day 1

Arrive in Noosa and check in at Nomads Noosa. You must arrive before 18:00 to attend a compulsory pre-tour briefing where you meet your fellow travellers and learn more about your Fraser Island tour. Safety is paramount and this is when you find out about do’s and dont's, driving tips, and nominated drivers will be required to complete required liability and insurance forms. All passengers are required to attend the briefing to be allowed to travel to the island the next day.

  • Day 2

The group departs Noosa by bus at 07:30 and head towards Rainbow Beach (1.5 - 2 hours drive). Please be waiting for the bus at Nomads reception by 07:30. Please ensure you have checked out of your room and have both your Fraser luggage and your main luggage with you. We stop at Rainbow Beach to inspect and collect the vehicles, hand signed rental agreements, pay $250 cash bond (or $10 non-refundable cash excess fee) and to collect food and we’re on our way to the Island. We then take a barge from River Heads and land at Hook Point on the Southern tip of Fraser Island approximately 10 min later. Depending on the weather, and the tide your guide will assess whether it is safe to travel on the beach or if we need to select an alternative route to our next destination - The Southern Lakes. After a relaxing break, it is time for a rainforest track to walk off our lunch and explore the Island’s unique flora and hopefully spot some wildlife too! Afterwards we drive up to Eli Creek and visit the famous Maheno Shipwreck. We then drive to Eurang Resort arriving at around 17:30. After a refreshing shower, it’s dinner time (BBQ - steak/chicken & salads) and time to enjoy the facilities of Eurang Resort or walk on the beach.

  • Day 3

Another early start to make most of our time on the island! After breakfast we drive up Eli Creek, the largest freshwater creek on the Eastern Coast of the island, which carves its way through to the beach and pours 8 million litres of water a day into the Pacific Ocean. There are a number of walkways, and a short circular route that runs up one side of the creek and down the other. From there we head up to the famous Maheno Shipwreck, the most famous of the Fraser Island wrecks driven ashore during a cyclone in 1935. From there we continue north to Coloured Sands comprising of 72 different colours of sand. Next stop is the Pinnacles, a natural wonder of Fraser Island made up of multicoloured sand cliffs. We stop here for lunch and a break before driving up to Indian Heads, a large rocky headland, great for shark spotting. Finally we visit Champagne Pools, a popular swimming hole with the ocean crashing over the rocks into shallow sandy pools. After an action-packed day we head back to our accommodation at Eurang Resort for dinner.

Our last day on the island. After breakfast we travel to Lake Wobby, the deepest lake on the island (11.4 m!) and Lake McKenzie, famous for its clear blue water and sandy beach, covering more than 150 hectares and five meters in depth. After lunch it is time to leave. We depart the island at approximately 14:30, stop at Rainbow Beach to drop off our vehicles, collect the bond and drive by bus back to Noosa arriving at around 17:00, just in time for the exclusive post-tour party at KB's Bar.
