Take the southern route through sun-drenched San Diego, the mighty Grand Canyon, the exciting neon desert city of Las Vegas and tribal lands of the Navajo in Monument Valley. You'll cross the wild Texan plains and experience Austin's world-renowned nightlife, soak up the southern charm in New Orleans, Nashville and Memphis and see the enormous mountainous spine that is the Appalachian Mountains. Have your fill of history in Washington D.C and finish up your epic trip in New York.

  • Days 1-2 Los Angeles & San Diego

Take a tour of 'Tinseltown' starting with a drive through Hollywood to the Walk of Fame and a view of the iconic Hollywood sign. Head south to San Diego for some seriously laid-back vibes and powder white sand beaches. There's loads to keep you busy in this awesome West Coast city; laze in grassy Balboa Park and explore famous San Diego Zoo, home to over 3,000 incredible animals, or show off your skills by renting some rollerblades or a surfboard. You're in paradise so don your shades and soak up some rays. Later, explore the Gaslamp Quarter and experience the heart of San Diego's nightlife. Accommodation: Hostel nights included

  • Days 3-4 Las Vegas

It's on to a little place we like to call 'Sin City'. With so much to see and do why not start with an included cruise down the Strip in a super-stretch limo and afterwards indulge in an all-you-can eat buffet, take in a show or just watch the amazing crowds and neon signs as the glitzy hotels try to outdo each other with spectacular attractions. If you want to get extreme, how about a trip to the top of the Stratosphere Hotel for some thrills on the vertigo inducing roller coasters perched at the top! And if that's not enough, take a helicopter flight back down the Strip. Remember, "What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas". Accommodation: Hotel nights included

  • Days 5-6 Route 66 & Grand Canyon National Park

En route to the Grand Canyon you'll drive along a section of the original Route 66, stopping at the town of Seligman; a town frozen in time where you'll find tons of old Americana. Grab a root beer, have a look around and pick up some souvenirs for the folks back home. Now it's time for the ultimate show stopper, the mighty Grand Canyon! Once you've cast your eyes upon the deep canyon landscape you'll understand why this great natural wonder is loved by locals and tourists alike. Pack your boots, camera and water before venturing into the canyon itself along the Bright Angel Trail to Plateau Point. Alternatively, opt for a "bird's eye" view on a scenic helicopter flight. Watching the sun rise or set over the canyon with the colours changing is simply breath-taking and not to be missed, so enjoy every minute. Accommodation: Hotel nights included

  • Days 7 Monument Valley

On the road again and off to one of North America's most iconic landscapes, used as the set for countless Western movies, including the recent remake of The Lone Ranger. Immerse yourself in the native culture on an optional guided jeep tour of the Navajo Reservation and back roads. Marvel at the sight of towering buttes and mesas which dominate the awe-inspiring landscape during the day. At night it gets even more incredible, as the sun goes down swap camp fire stories under a starry sky. Accommodation: Motel night included

  • Days 8 Santa Fe

With 325 days of sunshine per year, plus some of the best Mexican food in the USA, Santa Fe won't disappoint. For all the art lovers out there Santa Fe is the one for you. Visit Canyon Road, home to art galleries, cultural treasures such as hand-woven Navajo rugs, historic adobe buildings and a vibrant restaurant scene. Be sure to check out Bumble Bee's for some of the best Tex-Mex in the area and some live music in the evening. Accommodation: Motel night included
